KATHLEEN Skincare: Cleansing Lotion & Tonifying Mist

After seeing blogger Carly Musleh, talk about cream cleansers on her Instagram stories. So when I was selected to review the pre launch products from Kathleen Skincare I though it was divine timing. I was sent the Lightening Cleansing Lotion & Rebalancing & Soothing Tonifying Mist which are set to launch and be available to order in May.

For those of you who may have missed my last post about the Kathleen Caviar Enriched eye cream, you can catch up here. Kathleen offer are luxurious beauty products which are made in the UK, natural, organic and no added chemicals. They really know their stuff, and I sometimes find organic skincare a little diluted and doesn't pack as much punch against other brands but I really feel a difference with their range.

The cleansing lotion & toning mist come in complimentary boxes and the packaging is lovely quality. They are both available in 2 sizes, 150ml for your nightstand and the smaller size, 50ml is perfect for those weekend stays when you need skincare on-the-go.

I've been having a crazy time with my skin recently due to a hectic schedule so I really felt this was a great time to put these to the test. After a long (and stressful) day, I removed the majority of my make up with a make up wipe and then used the cleanser followed by the mist. The cleansing lotion is to be applied to dry skin and massaged deeply using your fingertips. I followed the instructions and massaged it all into my face. I then ran a skin of just-hot water and submerged the muslin cloth which I used to exfoliate my face and remove any make up still lying on my skin.

I cleaned my face, using different sections of the muslin for each section. This lotion boasts to "help to lift dirt, oil, make up and impurities, without drying the skin" for which I can vouch for. This left my skin feeling fresh, clean and free from the greasy oils left on your face from a long day of wearing make up! The cleansing lotion is made up from rose water, lavender water, lemon, tamansu and  avocado oil among other nourishing ingredients. We all know the benefits of oils and such so to get it penetrating your skin in your routine is super beneficial. The muslin cloth helps to exfoliate and rid your skin of dead skin cells to reveal fresh, bright skin underneath.

I then let my face breathe for a few minutes before moving on to the tonifying mist. The mist can be applied in one of two ways. You can either spritz over your face in a "just stepped off a desert island and need hydrating" kinda way, or you can spray onto a cotton pad and apply to face and neck. Obviously I opted for the first option.

I let the mist sink into my skin and this glistened on the surface and then slowly dissepearing to work its organic magic on my skin. Aloe vera, chamomile water and lemon are some of the ingredients in this spray. I have quite a good skin tone overall and not many red patches or uneven colour but I could really feel a difference after using this combined with the cleanser. My skin felt lighter, fresher, clean and soft with the Kathleen products and would recommend if you have sensitive skin or are looking for organic luxe beauty products.

If you're looking for organic products with a punch, then Kathleen has got you! The cleansing lotion is priced at £ 29.50 for the 150ml or £13.00 for the 50ml (only bigger size includes 2 muslin cloths.) The tonifying mist is £23.00 for the 150ml or £13 for the 50ml size and these are set to last you quite a while. However, I have a special discount code for you to all receive 15% off, just enter redhead15 at the checkout to redeem.

If you're looking for that fresh, glow you get right after leaving the spa then give Kathleen products a try. These launch in May however, their other products are available to order now.

Until next time...

Concrete Candles & French Connection Scented Goodies

Bit of a late one but still felt the need I had to show you this in a post! As a Christmas gift I bought my mam the French Connection body set after smelling the hand wash at a friends house just before Christmas. After getting a waft of the delicious hand wash, I rushed to Boots and got the body set which includes 1 x bath foam, 1 x body lotion & 2 x tea light candles.

Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the marble packaging?!! Totally obsessed with marble and French Connection have managed to combine a gorgeously scented set with beautiful packaging. Double brownie points for FC!

Loving the minimalist style of the labels on the bottles! And the fact that the body lotion is a pump bottle which makes it so much easier to load up your hands to moisturise after a bath or shower!

Its fari to say, the bath foam didn't last long at all as both me and my mamma' are bath lovers and who can't resist a luxurious bubble bath?!

I can't even begin to do justice and describe the scent in words, but I'll give it a try. Okay so if you can imagine a combination of earthy vanilla with the woody tones of a perfume which linger on the skin. I have to say I was so impressed with this set and it really was the scent that sealed it for me.

So my obsession for different surfaces continues (with my big love for home ware and interiors.) So the marble was a gorgeous feature but matched with the concrete effect candle holders totally made it! I was so tempted to keep this set for myself as it ticks every box for me. The little details really do all add up to a more luxurious item and the fact that the candles are poured wax and not loose tea lights is just the cherry on the cake.

Spring Fragrances & PartyLite Treats

Mother's Day is coming and if you're still frantic finding the perfect girl for your special mum, then keep reading. I was contacted by PartyLite to have a little look at their newest collection just ahead of Mothers Day. Thank you PartyLite! If you haven't heard of them, then I suggest all you candle hoarders get clicking over to their site, they have a full range from candles, tea light holders, wax melts to home fragrances. I am a sucker for candles and home fragrances, so when the box of PartyLite products arrived, I was very excited...

All of these products are from the SmartScent range. The first thing I pulled out of the box were 2 tea light holders with little butterfly motifs on the front. I think these could be great for a wide range of people, from teens to butterfly lovers to people who just want a subtle pop of colour and fragrance.

The interior of these holders have a beautiful colour inside to add a little more interest to these. How sweet - it's all about the details!

I think these would be perfect as separates but also sit together as a pair too...

These are one of my favourites I think. They smell utterly divine and they have such a strong citrus scent which is almost good enough to eat! These would add the perfect lift to any room and are the perfect gift if your Mum is a fan of citrus smells. They are tea light candles and they do burn for a fair time each and would look brilliant in the tea light holders mentioned above! The pop of yellow against the pink and lilac would look lovely!

Then there is the crème de la crème of the collection. This is a large GloLite 2 wick candle....

The scent is called Berry Blossom and also a yummy light spring fragrance. Again, this is a light airy scent and is very uplifting (great for a relaxing Sunday with a glass of champagne in hand.) The scent makes me think of British fruits, strawberry picking in the summer and summer fields in the countryside. The smell makes me feel instantly calm and comforted. Mother's Day is vey close and if your mum is a candle lover then I think I would choose beauty....

The candle claims to be the 'world's brightest candle" and the box explains that with the textured wax, this helps to create a soft glow with a strong fragrance.

I also received something else but I didn't want to overload too much with images as there is lots to look at already. So I will do a post very soon on that.... I cannot wait to show you all!
