Forever Living Baked Eyeshadows

I don't know why... but the phrase 'baked eye shadows' sounds delicious to my ears! Maybe because the word baked has a connotation of eating and I love to eat! But anyway, back to the eye shadows...
So this palette is kind of a capsule collection for a soft smokey eye from Forever Living. The palette is pocket size and perfect to drop in your bag for day to night time looks! So for all the busy girls reading this, it would be the perfect staple product for you!

The colours are beautiful and a soft metallic. The purple addition shouldn't work in this mix of colours but oddly it does! This specific palette is called Rose Bronze (429) and the colours make me want to wear a smoky eye everyday. Being a redhead, sometimes a black smokey eye is too harsh with my complexion. The brown smokey eye, I have done over and over but this selection of colours gives a new twist and a softer look.

The great thing about this eye palette is that there are so many possibilities. So, I first off I tried a simple every day eye. I think this could be versatile for work or days you feel like wearing less make up.

I wore this look with a simple, fitted white shirt and a pair of skinny white jeans. This look is the 2 lightest colours in the palette...

The colours take a little applying, but they do blend into each other beautifully.

I then tried a more built up look and used all 4 colours. I think tis could work for more of a night out look or for an event or occasion.

Even with a heavier look I think it is still a very natural. I really do love the colours and feel like I could wear them in so many ways. You could dress this look up even more with lashes and liner for a super glam finish.

Don't forget you can contact Vicky Robinson (rep for Forever Living.) She is lovely and will help you set up an account to start your Forever Living collection. If you're interested in the palette you can view it online HERE.

Photo shoot with Katie Spedding Photography

So about a year ago I was contacted by a lovely photographer... She said she wanted to book me months later and that she'd be in touch. Now a lot of the time, ideas change, photos shoots get rescheduled, different models get booked al of the time. So I was not sure if she would contact me again with the idea she had in mind. About a month go, I was surprisingly contacted by the lovely Katie Spedding. Katie is a student photographer and currently studying at Cleveland College of Art & Design and previously studied at Newcastle College. Both of the places I have studied so it was nice that we both knew of the same people in our creative circles. It actually turned out that we had previously met but I didn't realise via online contact.

So anyway, Katie messaged me with ideas, mood boards and other info I needed. It is always a plus when a photographer keeps the model well in the loop so you can be on the same wavelength and produce the best image possible with the same vision.

I loved her ideas so was super excited to work with her. I turned up to Centre Studio in Newcastle. It is a lovely little studio tucked away behind the Life Centre. I then met the make up artist who I knew via social media but had never previously had the chance to work with so far. Colleen Carrahar is absolutely lovely and she made my face look amazing for the look we were going for. It was quite a dark beauty look with white sleek brows. Colleen's application was impeccable and spent ages perfecting the look.

Then for my hair, this was also a lovely lady! Louise Jane Gibson gave me a slicked back look with a little texture and volume. Louise had an amazing attention to detail and tweaked through out the shoot. I had not worked with Louise neither so it was really nice to meet a new set of people. I'm such a social butterfly and I love that part of modelling.

To finish the look I wore a black lace top and accessories by Kathryn Russell (another creative I know via social media and love her pieces, so was a delight to wear them.)

Then finally, it was down to me to sit in front of the camera. Katie spoke through the emotion she was trying to evoke and different poses she would like from me. As a model, I have learnt from experiences which angles work, what looks good on camera and how to move. I still learn every shoot but it is something that comes with experience. So, to the aspiring models reading this... Keep practising, grab photographers willing to work with you and you'll get there.

I cannot wait to share the final images from this shoot! But for now, I'll keep you hanging on the edge of your seat. Katie shot numerous models for this collection of images so she has lots of editing to do but will share them when I receive them!

Don't forget to follow the team on social media!

Miss Taylors Online Department Store

So I have been aware of Miss Taylors for some time now through a friend. Miss Taylors is an online department store which stocks, women's wear, men's wear, children's wear and shabby chic furniture among other bits and pieces. Among their clothes, they stock a huge number of celeb style pieces which are perfect if you want to get the latest celebrity trend.

So I have been in the market for a new lightweight trench style coat (or something similar) for a while now. I feel the cold terribly and with spring on the way a lightweight long coat is ideal for me... So when I seen their Oversized Lapel Belted Coat I literally ordered one right away. I ordered the black and I adore the 'head to toe black' look but they also stock grey and camel too (which I am now ordering!) Celebrities including Kim Kardashian West and Sarah Jessica Parker have been spotted wearing very similar styles.

The coat arrived 2 days after payment and it was wrapped and branded with a gorgeous Miss Taylors sticker. I was so excited for it to arrive so I'm glad the delivery was so fast! The fabric is a nice weight which is perfect for in-between seasonal transitions and it is really soft. This could be worn belted for a high fashion look with the belt in a knot or worn open for a more 'girl about town' look.

Kim Kardashian is the queen of the belted coat and proves time and time again that this style coat in a minimal colour can be super - versatile. This now has my head spinning with outfit combinations - over a dress, over skinny jeans with a court heel, draped over a pair of cropped cigarette trousers and a tailored shirt... I could go on.

I have purchased through Miss Taylors twice now and both times I could not fault this brand! The clothes are a lovely quality, prices are fair and they are always dispatched and delivered quickly. Among their accomplishments, they have supplied a dress for Kimberley Kisselovich for the 2014 Celeb Big Brother Final, supplied suits for the groomsmen at Kerry Katona's wedding and have numerous brand ambassadors who endorse the brand.

Stay tuned for an outfit post with this beauty! What do you think of this style coat? Personally, I think it is classic and versatile!

Louise Ross | Final Images

So a little update since my last post about modelling in York. (To catch up, you can read it HERE.) I was modelling for country fashion brand, Louise Ross. I thought I would share some of the final images with you...

My personal favourite... The yellow shift dress.

It was an absolute delight to model these pieces and I am lucky that the colours compliment my skin tone! I'd love to hear from you all (in the comments) on which is your favourite look from this shoot? It's a tough decision but I think mine is  the yellow shift dress. When their website launches, I may just have to treat myself!
