Organic Beauty: Smudge Cosmetics

So if you follow me on Instagram, you'll have known this post was on its way. Recently I was sent some beautiful organic, handmade beauty & cosmetic products. These are from a new brand called Smudge!

The products I was sent were a Strawberry Lip Gloss and a Patchouli Hand & Body Cream. They also sent me a lip balm, but that I'm saving for a separate post because I seriously love it! (lip balm lover over here.) I was so excited receiving them as they are 100% organic and it is lovely when brands are resourceful instead of packing products full of chemicals & fillers. It's refreshing to know the ingredients are sourced from natural oils and such.

The first thing I tried was the Patchouli scented Hand & Body Cream. This is a very strongly scented cream with a natural fragrance, so if you like Patchouli... you'll love this! It has a gorgeous consistency of a thick, creamy, silky yoghurt and then tin is a perfect size. There's enough to last you a good while but not too big to throw in your handbag to keep your skin hydrated on the go.

The great thing about this cream is it soaks in quite quickly. I can't sit still so this is important for me! I love applying this after a long soak in the bath and shaving my legs. I am a sucker for creams after suffering from dry hands but I will gladly add this to my collection.

The Strawberry Lipgloss is perfect for anyone who's not keen on straight up lipsticks or lip-glosses. It's a great combination of these two things! The texture it not too sticky and you almost forget you're wearing it. It has a lovely shimmery look which gives a nice shine on the lips and can also be worn very faint (by dabbing onto the lip with your finger) or as a heavier colour with the applicator to build it up.

The applicator is such a great shape & is lovely and soft!

The packaging is great and stylish. This wouldn't look out of place is any make up bag.

For anyone looking for organic, cruelty free cosmetics, Smudge is totally for you! I have also heard they are moving into candles & home scents too which I am very excited about! Nothing like a beautiful smelling home (and if its organic then all the better!)

You can catch up with Smudge over on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram! So head over now to order yours.

Until next time..

Cheekbones & Highlight From Heaven

So in this age of make up and all things beauty, us girls all seem to be in search of a highlighter. I was recommended the Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skin Finish powder highlighter by Mac Cosmetics.

Okay so, for a redhead or anyone who is fair.... I really do recommend this shade. It really is soft but has enough highlight glow for you to completely fall in love with it! The shimmery shade really is a delicious sun kissed glimmer and sits perfectly on the skin (also available in 3 other shades for different skin types.). I swear by this now in my everyday make up look. It retails in the UK for £24.00 and I find it to be worth every penny!

So as you can see, this is a shimmery pressed powder highlighter which applies very well to skin. I find nothing more annoying than buying a beautiful looking highlighter then when you apply it, it is very hard to work with and get a result. This however is the opposite. So easy to work with and I just use a simple angled contour brush and apply the part of my cheekbone in a swooping upward motion, to my temples and a little to my jawline to accentuate my features.

As you can tell (by the spam of images in this post), I am also madly in love with the packaging of this. Sleek, simple, black and compact. It's totally fit for purpose, fits in my make up bag if I need it on the move and has a lovely secure snap shut to avoid spillages.

Oh, and what's ever more great is this has lasted me forever! Months and I do use it very frequently! What's not to love about this Mac highlighter?! If you're looking to buy, this is available at counters and also online HERE.

Until next time...

Healthy Take Out & Chopstick Adventures

So if you have been following my blog for a while you will know I am obsessed with sushi. Read more about my obsession HERE. But this time I'm talking about Nudo...

I am a very faithful customer of St Sushi but recently I have been indulging a little in Nudo take out! St sushi do take out but sometimes Nudo is more convenient for me so I love them equally.

The thing I like about Nudo is that you can buy a selection of different boxes all freshly made up which are refrigerated. Every time I go in and debate what to have and almost always leave with a delicious selection of salmon! My fave! So I just thought I'd share this with you because sometimes I'm a girl about town and need to grab something to eat in a hurry in between my busy schedule or to take home after a busy week and unwind with a glass of champagne!

I love the packaging of these little boxes and each box has a sticker seal so you know what is what.
Which if you're a sushi beginner can be helpful.

I have to say aesthetically I would prefer if the rolls were neater but maybe I just have sushi OCD! They still taste very good! And much better dipped in soy sauce. These boxes also come with a wasabi sachet, soy sauce sachet and some include picked ginger too.

I have to tell you salmon nigiri have always been a favourite of mine, right from my first trying sushi. Also someone once told me to step away from the salmon nigiri and buy the Nudo seared salmon and I was thinking how could anything top the nigiri?! But this seared salmon is amazing! Soooo tasty and a new take on plain salmon nigiri! If you haven't tried this I feel like it's a must... I'm hungry just looking at these photos!

If you know of any cool sushi joints, let me know in the comments.

Until next time.

Guava Lipstick Forvever Living

So I'm not one to wear lip colour as much as I should, but felt like a lip colour review was much needed on my little blog! I recently tried the Forever Living Guava Lipstick....

This range of lipsticks from forever living are beautifully packaged!  The lipstick bullets are a sumptuous deep purple with sort of reflective finish and the logo printed on to them. The touch I like about them is that you can see the colour through the lid because they have a little window. I thought this was a great idea if you're carrying a few colours, you're raking round in your handbag and need to find it quickly... I am forever forraging round in my bag!

I wasn't sure how this colour would look on me as I usually do favour a red lip (when I do actually wear a lip colour.) It's always nice to be pleasantly surprised with cosmetics, and with this, I most certainly was.

The texture is glossy but without being a gloss... The longer you wear it, obviously the gloss does wear but that texture can be added back when re applying. The colour is a gorgeous almost, dusty pink. I do love lighter colours, but with my skin tone I wasn't sure if it would wash me out or bring out the colour in my face. I actually loved it when I wore it! It is subtle but enough to suggest that you're into your cosmetics. The colour really made my eyes pop. I wore it for the 1st time to go and meet a friend (amazing artist called Sharron Bates.) We spent the day mooching galleries and doing research or her very own children's book she is working on!

Anyway, back on task... I really do recommend this shade to redheads! I wore with a crisp, white shirt, navy skinny jeans & a 3 quarter length lime green cardigan. I do think the lime and pink complimented each other too.

Now you're wondering where to get such a delish lipstick! Contact Vicky (Forever Living Rep) and she will take care of you!
