Best Tweezers I've ever used?!

In November, I entered a competition to win a pair of Browtician tweezers. I've seriously been in the market for a new pair for quite some time so crossed my fingers for these. Didn't think I'd actually win though! The competition required a comment on their Facebook post to tell the company how you groom your brows. I shared my secrets and explained that I love threading but usually do pluck mine to get rid of any strays. I would love to tint, but as a fashion/beauty model, clients like to have the variety of having them super blonde (giving a younger/fresher look) or filling them in with a colour matching my natural colour or even a complete opposite colour, like bright colours!

Anyway, before I bore you too much, I just wanted to do a little post to show you these Slant Tweezers and tell you how good they are.

They arrived packaged in this cute emoji style cardboard box and in their own little case to store them. The Slant tweezer live up to their obvious name with slanted tips which really allows you to get a good angle & precision when shape your brows. (How gorgeous is the high gloss black finish?!)

I love the little case that it comes in, I think it's great for travelling. Nothing worse that a pair of sharp tweezers floating around in the depths of your handbag waiting to stab you when you innocently dig your hand in to find your keys.

The tip of these tweezers are metal and they have a really tight closed grip which allows you to get a good firm grip on the hair whilst pulling it. Personally, these are the best tweezers I've used for this reason! Really helps to pull the hair out, even the tiny ones which we girls know can be tricky. These are from the Minimalist Collection which have a range of different shaped ends including Pointed & Squared. They even have a Stylist Collection for the brow obsessed who love to groom their brows! So if you're in the market for a pair, go check out Browitican.

The age of the brow

So, being a redhead I get asked from many fellow redheads what product I use on my brows... And what, with all of us being brow obsessed, I thought I'd do a little post on what I use and how I do my brows. Seriously, what did we do before brows became a big thing in beauty again?!

So the product I use more often than not is the Rimmel Brow Pencil in shade Blonde. It is a great colour for my brows and I know other redheads I've recommended it to and have loved it too. The pencil lasts me a good few months and it comes with a brow brush on the lid too. (Super hand for the bad brow days.)

So to get my perfect brow I begin with brushing them to get a nice tidy shape... And I always begin with a sharp pencil to ensure I get a really defined brow. I then mark the outer edge and fill in with quick brush type strokes sticking to the natural shape of my brow. I like my brows to look natural yet defined so the brushstrokes help achieve the natural look. The I work on the inner brow with very soft feathery strokes and build it up in depth and colour until I've achieve the look I want. I work from the inner edge to the middle section gradually until the whole brow is completely filled in. I then finish by concealing the edges to clean it up and especially around the tail of the brow to sharpen up this area.

I hope this helps answer the questions people have been asking me about my brows! This may not suit everyone but this is how I choose to do mine after trying many different shapes and powders etc but the pencil really is my go-to product for day to day. If you have any secret brow products or techniques, I'd love to hear them in the comments!

Brow Perfection & Cute Cupcakes

On Friday I was invited to a gorgeous little event with Benito Brow Bar. We live in a world obsessed with brows so I just had to go along and see what they had to offer. For those of you that follow me will know I'm a model so it's important for me to be groomed from my bows to my hair to my toenails and have a polished look ready for any photo shoot. I don't really trust people with my brows as I know they have to be just right and I know how I like my shape so this was a big step for me.

Benito is based in Debenhams in Eldon Square (and there is also one located at House of Fraser in the Metro Centre too.) They have been running for some years now and offer a wide range of treatments from waxing, threading, tinting, lash extensions and even male grooming packages. For those of you who aren't so sure guys would use this service, there was a chap in having his brows done next to me. The world is brow obsessed!

Come on, how cute are these Benito cupcakes?! You'll spot a Benito Brow Bar miles off from their unmistakable black and orange branding.

So here's what my brows looked like before my threading.... My eyebrows are naturally blonde despite my red hair. So I have to pencil them in, but admittedly they have been a little out of hand recently. So when Benito approached me I held off to make sure I could see the results. Thankfully, because they're so blonde I can get away with them being a little out of control ha!

So the first thing which happened was having my brows removed (just my make up version of my brows haha.) So the left brow is make up free to show the difference.

I was then talked through the process and asked what I would like from my treatment. I then explained how I love my eyebrows and what shape I'd like. The girl who seen to me was so lovely and listened to everything perfectly. P.s I look so engrossed, I'm obviously taking it very seriously...

We then went ahead woth my treatment, and after a crazy long day... Once I was in that chair I was so relaxed. It took about 5 minutes to actually thread my brows and for any of you who are scared about that pain it's not really painful at all. It's an odd sensation that kinda feels like Velcro. To ensure you get a really clean finish, you have to keep the skin taught.

You've got to check out the Sign Ups & Offers section of their site, they have some really great deals and competitions on. They have HALF PRICE on lashes all month so don't miss out!

Benito have a customer service which remains no matter which brow bar you visit. They have a series of different bars all over the country so check for your nearest one here. Threading costs £13.00 which is a great price for the service and how lovely the staff are! And if you're looking for something a little extra they can set you up with a package... and for all you truly committed brow lovers, they have a loyalty service which means you pay for 6 treatments and get your 7th free! I really love that concept, as when you are loyal to a brand and constantly use their service because you love what they do it's nice to get a little reward in return.

I am so happy with the result and my brows are so clean and tidy now. Threading really does give a clean finish and would totally recommend a visit if you're a threading virgin or a brow addict.

Until next time...
